At Pixelspace, LLC ("we", "our", or "us"), your privacy is our top priority. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect when you use Lookie, how we use it, and your rights over your data.
By creating an account or using Lookie, you agree to this Privacy Policy.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Account Information
When you sign up, we collect:
- Name: First and last name.
- Email Address: Used for login and communication.
- Password: Stored as a one-way hash (we never store or see your plain-text password).
1.2 Content and Metadata
When you use Lookie, we store:
- Video Recordings: The files you upload.
- Hardware Access: Lookie requests access to your camera, microphone, and screen. This access is only active while the application is in use for recording purposes. We do not collect hardware data in the background.
- Metadata: Video titles, descriptions, and expiration settings.
- Transcriptions: Text generated from your audio via OpenAI Whisper.
1.3 Billing Information
Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your credit card details. We only retain your Stripe Customer ID and subscription status.
1.4 Cookies
Lookie app (app.lookie.space): We do not use tracking, advertising, or analytics cookies. We only use essential cookies necessary for the service to function, such as authentication and security.
Marketing site (lookie.space): We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors interact with our website. GA4 sets cookies that collect anonymized information such as IP address, browser type, pages visited, and time spent on the site.

You can opt out of Google Analytics at any time by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on or by rejecting analytics cookies in our cookie banner.
1.5 Technical Data
When you access Lookie, our servers automatically record certain technical information, including your IP address, browser type, and the date and time of your requests. This data is used solely for security and fraud prevention purposes.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your data strictly to:
- Provide and maintain the Lookie service.
- Generate AI transcriptions. Note: Audio is processed via API and is not used to train external machine learning models.
- Send transactional emails (billing alerts, security notifications).
- Comply with legal obligations or business transfers (in case of merger or sale).
Note on Data Selling: We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.
3. Legal Basis for Processing Your Data
We process your personal data only where we have a valid legal basis under GDPR Article 6:
- Account information (name, email, password): necessary to perform our contract with you.
- Video recordings, metadata, and transcriptions: processed to fulfill our contractual obligations to you.
- Billing records: processed to perform our contract and to comply with legal obligations such as tax law.
- Transactional emails: sent on the basis of our legitimate interests.
- Server logs: retained on the basis of our legitimate interests in maintaining security.
- Marketing site analytics (GA4): processed on the basis of your consent, given via the cookie banner on lookie.space.
4. Data Processors (Third Parties)
Lookie relies on these partners who act as "Data Processors" under strict security:
- Mux: Video hosting and delivery.
- Stripe: Payment processing and fraud prevention.
- OpenAI: Transcription via Whisper API.
- Resend: Transactional email delivery.
- Google Analytics: Website analytics on the marketing site (lookie.space).
- Render: Cloud infrastructure and hosting.

International Data Transfers
Pixelspace, LLC is based in the United States. Our third-party processors also operate in the United States. When personal data is transferred from the European Economic Area (EEA) or United Kingdom, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) implemented by these vendors as part of their GDPR compliance frameworks. 5. Data Retention and Deletion
- Videos: Automatically deleted after your expiration period plus a 7-day grace period.
- Account Deletion: All associated videos and profile data are removed from our active systems and Mux immediately.
- Tax/Legal: We retain billing records for the period required by law.
- Transcriptions: Deleted automatically when the video expires or when you delete your account.
- Account data (name, email): Retained until you delete your account. If inactive for more than 3 years with no active subscription, we may delete it after 30 days' notice.
- Server logs: Retained for up to 90 days for security purposes, then automatically purged.
6. Your Rights
- Right to Access: You can request a copy of your data.
- Right to Rectification: You can update your name in Settings. For email changes, contact us at lookie@pixelspace.com.
- Right to Erasure: You can delete your account at any time via Settings.
- Right to Portability: You can request a manual export of your data by contacting us.
- Right to Object: You may object to processing based on our legitimate interests. Contact us at lookie@pixelspace.com.
- Right to Restriction: You may request that we restrict processing while a dispute is resolved. Contact us at lookie@pixelspace.com.
- Right to Withdraw Consent: Where processing is based on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time. Contact us at lookie@pixelspace.com.
- EU/UK Users: You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local Data Protection Authority.
7. Security & Children's Privacy
- Security: We use HTTPS encryption, bcrypt for passwords, and restricted access to production systems.
- Children: Lookie is not intended for users under 16. If we discover data from a minor, we will delete it immediately.
Data Breach Notification
In the event of a personal data breach likely to result in a risk to your rights, we will notify affected users without undue delay and, where feasible, within 72 hours of becoming aware of the breach.
